Privacy policy

Shivay Traders runs this shop and decides why and how your personal data is used. This page explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect and why

• When you order: your name, mobile number, email address, delivery address and any note you add. We use them to take and deliver your order, to email your confirmation, invoice and tracking link, and to contact you about it.
• When you order or sign in: the IP address and browser type of your device, and counters that limit repeated requests. We use them to keep the shop secure and stop misuse.
• If you create an account: your email, name and a password, which we store only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into your password, or the identifier of your Google account if you sign in with Google (we receive no other Google profile data). We also keep your saved addresses. This lets you see your orders and check out faster.
• When you write to us through the Contact page: your name, email, optional phone number and order number, your message, and your IP address. We use them to answer you.
• When you ask for a return or replacement: the items, your reason and note, and any photos you add. For a refund on a cash on delivery order, the UPI ID or bank account you give: it is stored encrypted, used only for that refund, and deleted afterwards.
• If something breaks in your browser: a short error report with the page address (without anything after the ?), what went wrong and your browser type. It contains no name, address or contact detail, and repeats are only counted.
• We do not collect any card, UPI or bank details to take payment: orders are paid on delivery.

Cookies and browser storage

We set only the cookies the shop needs to work. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not load third-party trackers.

• Your bag: we remember what's in your bag for up to 30 days.
• Sign-in: if you sign in, we keep you signed in for up to 60 days, or until 14 days after your last visit, or until you sign out.
• Sign in with Google: for a few minutes only, while you sign in with Google, so the sign-in can finish safely.
• Browser storage: your browser keeps one small note so a sign-in prompt you closed doesn't keep coming back.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

• Delivery couriers: your name, phone number and address, so they can deliver.
• Technology providers that store or process data for us: our hosting and database provider, and the service that stores photos.
• Our email service: your name, email address and the content of the emails we send you.
• Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Order and tax records (including the delivery details of each order): at least 6 years, because the law requires us to keep accounting records.
• Your account: until you delete it. When you delete it, your login and personal details are anonymised; the orders you placed stay as records.
• Contact messages: deleted automatically after 12 months.
• Return requests and their photos are kept with the order they belong to. Payout details for a cash on delivery refund are deleted as soon as the refund is done.
• Browser error reports: 30 days after they were last seen.

Your rights

You can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, withdraw consent you gave, and nominate another person to exercise these rights for you. We may have to keep some data, such as order records, where the law requires it.

To use any of these, write to the contact below. We reply within 2 days (working days). You can also delete your account yourself from the account page.

Children

This shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us their data, write to us and we will delete it.
